“And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.””
2 Corinthians 6:18 NIV
We have a new identity in Christ Jesus.
We are sons and daughters of the Most High God. An identity we got when we received and confessed Jesus as Lord.
By that confession, we were adopted into the Fatherhood of God, which makes us sons and daughters.
In the previous devotion, We read in Matthew 7:11 “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”
In this new identity, we can trust and ask God for anything and expect that He will give it to us.
Jesus speaking, “For here is eternal truth: When that time comes you won’t need to ask me for anything, but instead, you will go directly to the Father and ask him for anything you desire and he will give it to you, because of your relationship with me.”
John 16:23 TPT
In this new identity of sons and daughters, we have access to the Father, and this is because we have received Jesus as Lord.
God loves you dearly, and desires your full well being. He loves to hear from you and expects that you come boldly with all your requests. “Until now you’ve not been bold enough to ask the Father for a single thing in my name, but now you can ask, and keep on asking him! And you can be sure that you’ll receive what you ask for, and your joy will have no limits!”
John 16:24 TPT
Come to the Father with the consciousness of your new identity_ “Son’s and Daughter’s.
Prayer:
Thank you Father for the new identity I have in you. I am eternally grateful to be called your child and to know that you love me. Thank you for the access to come boldly, and for the blessed assurance given to me, that you will grant my hearts desires so my joy may be full In Jesus Name, Amen.
