Reading our opening scripture, you would realize that it says “God has not given us the spirit of fear.” It then goes on to say what God has given to us which are: the spirit of Power, of Love, and of a Sound Mind. Fear from the Greek word deilia means timidity. It also means to be faithless.
Timidity is a spirit which is not from God, but from the devil. He infuses this spirit in you to decapacitate you from achieving your God’s given purpose on earth.
Often times, he does this by telling you how unworthy you are as a result of either your past or present experiences. He shows you your flaws and deceives you into believing that God hates sinners. God does not hate the sinner but the sin, which is why He died for sinners, so that through His death, they can receive forgiveness for their sins. Don’t be so focused on what God hasn’t given to you; focus on what He has given for if God can give, the devil can also give however, the devil only give that which is evil with the intention to destroy you.
God has empowered you with all that is required for your victorious living but you must have to find them yourself and it’s not far fetched; it’s in His word which by the grace of God, you have access to.
They are some who believe like Job, that “God gives and takes,” which isn’t true. Every good and perfect gift comes from God, and He gives without repentance: meaning that, He gives and does not change His mind to take back what He has given.
God has given you the spirit of boldness to stand before Him in the righteousness of Christ. He has given you the spirit of love to enable you receive love, and to show same to others. He has given you the spirit of a sound mind. Sound mind here talks about sound judgment which is the ability to exhibit self control. You already have all these available to you beloved, but until you stop focusing on what God hasn’t given you, you may never experience and enjoy all that God has given to you.
Embrace all God has given to you: cast out all the fears, the worries, the anxieties, and the hate. Walk in the reality of what you have been given by God today. Hallelujah!
CONFESSION:
I refuse to live by what God hasn’t given me.
I denounce fear, timidity, hate, and every form of mental illness.
I declare I have the spirit of power, of love, and if a sound mind in Jesus’ Christ’s name, amen.
