If a question were to be asked on why we should give thanks to God, you would hear many say, “ For provision, protection, healing, deliverance,” and so on. In as much as all these are valid reasons to be grateful for, however, they are just secondary. They are a result of the main reason for which we ought to be grateful for; which is the salvation we have received through Jesus Christ.
It is the salvation we have in Christ that has qualified us to be divinely provided for, healed, protected, delivered, sustained, and to live a glorious life here on earth.
Our opening verse makes it clear that we have been made partakers of the inheritance of the saints. What is the inheritance of the saints? The inheritance of the saints is eternity with the Lord in heaven. It is the right to live forever with our Lord Jesus which we got the day we became born again. Hallelujah!
It is this life__the life of God, that produces results of provision, healing, divine health, deliverance from evil, and all the beautiful things we enjoy as Christians. Glory to God!
Many only wait to see their miracles before they give thanks. You will hear them say, “I am believing God for this to happen so I can come and give thanks.” This is not how it ought to be. “I am believing God for…” is not a confession of faith. It’s a confession of unbelief. It’s as though you are saying God hasn’t done it yet and so you are believing that He will do it.
Observe the tenses used in this scripture: “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:”
Did you notice that the tenses were all in past tenses? It says God has made you a partaker, which means you already have the inheritance of the life of God. It says you have bend delivered from the power of darkness and have been translated in the kingdom of our Lord Jesus.
These are not promises to be believing God for, rather, it’s already done and all you are required to do now is to completely believe the word of God to be true in your life. You are to constantly give God thanks for this revelation because it is the bedrock for the others which you can see manifested in your life. Until you are able to thank God for the salvation which is unseen, you may never experience the provision which is seen. Jesus have thanks for a provision which was not seen and the result was the multiplication of the bread and fish before the very eyes of the multitude.
The new creation expresses gratitude to God from the stand point of what has already been done in the spirit according to the word of God. We don’t wait as though we live by promises, rather we give thanks because we live in the reality of the word of God. Glory to God!
So, give thanks now for all things, and in all things as this is the will of God concerning you. All things concerning your glorious living, is already done in the spirit. Hallelujah!
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for the gift salvation by which I now enjoy the good things of life. I praise your holy name for you always hear me for you live in me. Blessings, honour, dominion and power, be to your holy name forever in Jesus name, Amen!
