But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1 Corinthians 2:14 KJV
The natural man is one who lives by the life gotten from his father and mother. He’s the one who is still governed by his five senses. The natural man is the unbeliever, who does not believe in Christ nor in the gospel.
Our world is filled with many natural men; You’d find them at your place of work, on the street, and some might be your relatives. They can’t understand why you pray in tongues, neither can they understand why you preach the gospel. They see your spiritual activities as foolishness.
There are also some in the church who even though they are saved, still act like the natural man in certain areas of their lives. They choose to believe God in some areas and not believe Him in other areas they might have thought impossible, and illogical.
Every scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit and is true. Scripture says, “But the natural [unbelieving] man does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him. He is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters].” 1 Corinthians 2:14 AMP
The natural man cannot receive from the Lord because, God is a spirit and His word which brings blessings, is transmitted from the spiritual realm. Only a spiritual man can discern, appreciate, and receive from God. You receive from the Lord with your spirit and not with your earthly mind. John 6:63 says, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
Today, receive God’s word without trying to be logical. The deep things of the spirit can only be comprehended by the spirit. If you try to reason with the flesh, it will never profit you. So say to yourself you are healed, you have a perfect mind, you are so rich, you are strong, happy, successful, and prosperous. Hallelujah! If God says it, believe it, and that settles it. Praise God!
PRAYER:
Precious Heavenly Father, I thank you for I am imparted by your word not taught by human wisdom, but communicated by your Spirit. Today, I receive interpretation to spiritual truths in all areas of my life, In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
