Thanksgiving is expressing gratitude to God for all He has done.
In the beginning of creation, God made the heavens and the earth. He made everything available to man before man was created. All things was created for mankind. Hallelujah!
Now that we have been given salvation through Christ, we have become possessors of all God has. The born again child of God is a haver; He has all things. Glory to God!
Praying our thankfulness to the One who gave us what we have in our lives is another way we can pray. It is closely related to a prayer of worship, although the difference is that one is recognizing who God is, and the other is giving thanks to God for what He has done.
Scripture says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Eph. 1:3).
You are blessed of the Lord, this is why your prayer of thanksgiving must be born out of this present reality of the gospel of Christ concerning you. You are no longer under a curse, you are blessed. You are blessed with all spiritual blessings meaning that, all that your will ever require is inside of you.
This should be your attitude at all times when you pray. Pray thankfully. Praise the Lord.
