The Aramaic word for “love” is hooba, and is taken from a root word that means “to set on fire.” This was the word Jesus used to ask Peter: “Do you burn with love for me?”
If your love for the Lord Jesus is not passionate and kindle a holy flame within your hearts to do His will even when it’s not convenient, then it’s not love.
This love is not only vocal, but must be displayed. Jesus responded to the affirmation of Peters love for him by saying, feed my lambs.
We display our love for the Lord Jesus Christ by our assumption into our ministerial roles. Every child of God has been called into the ministry of reconciliation which was initiated by God when He came down in human flesh, to reconcile the world back to Himself.
We have been called to feed; to preach the word, and make disciples of every nations and tribes. This we must do passionately and with burning holy flames in our hearts.
Jesus is saying to you, if you love me, be found doing the things I have called you to do. Serve with zeal and great enthusiasm. Be available, be reliable, be dependable. This is what Jesus sees as love. Burn for Him today, tomorrow, and always. Glory to God!
PRAYER:
Dear Lord Jesus, I love you. I receive grace to be passionately found feeding your sheep until your return. Hallelujah!
