We have talked about “sparking your faith” in our teachings, and one of the things we highlighted was that faith is vocal. You cannot walk in faith and not talk faith. Your confession must be constant and consistent with the word of God, in other to produce your desired result.
There are some who pray over a situation and make loud confessions only to change their confessions when faced with difficulties. They are the ones with plan “B’s.” You hear them say “ We have prayed but if I’d doesn’t work then we will activate the other plan” and most times, that “ the other plan” is never consistent with the word of God. They end up compromising themselves and the faith.
Our opening verse says if you must ask God, you must ask in faith. “Asking” in this context talks about praying. Jesus says when you pray, say “our Father” you ought to fully believe in God and see Him as your Father who’s got your back.
You don’t come to God double minded thinking will he do it or not. You must have faith in Him and see Him as your Shepherd.
In the book of Esther 4:16, we read that Esther fasted and prayed with one thing in mind “ If I perish, I perish” she didn’t pray with a plan “B” and that’s what God sees as Faith.
The blind beggar in Luke 18:35-38 wouldn’t change his confession even though the crowd beckoned on him to be quiet. He kept is confession constant and even louder.
What is that situation that would want to make you keep quiet and not confess your faith in the abilities of God? Do not give it power by yielding rather, seize it’s power by making bold confessions of your faith even louder.
There’s a story of a woman who had no money and had no food but every day she would raise her voice and thank God for his provision in her life. Her neighbour who didn’t believe in God always heard her and would make mockery of her however, she never stopped. One day he heard her thanking the Lord for giving her food to eat and blessing her with the groceries she needed and so in other to mock her that there is no God, he went to the store, bought her all she needed and secretly kept it at the front of her door, rang her bell and hid himself to watch her come out. This lady came out, saw all she had prayed for right at her door front, screamed and leaped for joy giving praise to God for providing. Suddenly her neighbour jumped out of his hiding and said to her mockingly “there’s no God, He didn’t provide, I did.” The woman looked up to the heaven and said “ My God, not only did you provide for me, you also used the devil to deliver it.”
If your confession can only remain constant, God will provide and can use anyone including using the devil as your slave where necessary, to deliver it to you. Hallelujah!
Do not be double minded when you pray to God, don’t be discouraged even when things don’t turn out as you would have expected. Trust God to the very end knowing that all things are working for your good. Glory to God!
PRAYER:
Dear Lord Jesus, I thank you for your love for me. I declare my complete trust in you knowing that, you have good thoughts, and plans for me. I refuse to be double minded but, to completely have faith in your word for my life. Hallelujah!
