Words are powerful as they have the potential to lift, or pull down the spirit of a person. The word “grace” in our opening text is translated, “compassion” from the Aramaic rendering. Jesus always spoke with compassion which preceded many of His recoded miracles.
As a child of God, how you see things ought to change. How you speak to others ought to change also. Don’t be among those who are quick to condemn, and talk carelessly without emotional intelligence, only to justify themselves by saying, “That’s how I talk.” No! A thousand times No! You are no longer that person. That person that used to talk that way, died with the old man. You must be conscious of how your words will affect the next person. Your words should come with compassion, It should come with truth, care and with love.
Words add seasoning to the life of the one being spoken to. Ask yourself this question: are people refreshed after hearing you? Are their spirit lifted? Do they feel lighter and happier after you have spoken? If your answer is “No” then you must consider looking into it and make amends. Scripture says our words should add value. It should add spice to lives, just as salt does to a food. Let people be eager to hear you speak and not irritated after your speech. You are a child of God, so speak like one.
Jesus said, “ bless those who curse you, do good to them who do you wrong.” This is a higher way of living because you now have the higher life. Hallelujah!
We are admonished today as children of God, to always speak with love, and compassion. Be gentle, be patient, and be understanding so that through our words, grace will be released into the lives of our hearers. Praise God!
CONFESSION:
My words are anointed and full of grace. By my words, grace is released, peace is released, love and compassion, are released. By my words, I raise up and strengthen my brethren. I shine the light of the mercies of God by my words because, I am a child of God. Glory to God.
