Love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance.
1 Corinthians 13:4 TPT
Words are powerful, they have the power to create emotions. Ephesians 4:29 says, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
Your words can either build or destroy. It can get you into trouble or get you out of trouble. Proverbs 21:23 “Watch your words and be careful what you say, and you’ll be surprised by how few troubles you’ll have.”
We will be dwelling more on the emotional release as a result of our words today. Love can spur the right emotions when given with the right intentions.
When you say to a person “I love you,” you are saying “I’ll be patient with you, I will be kind to you, I will not envy you, I will forgive you, I will be forbearing, I will not hold grudges against you.” That’s what you are saying. You are not reacting to their miss doings rather, you are responding with love.
Love is not given to the perfect, it’s giving to the imperfect with hopes and beliefs that this imperfect individual would become perfect for you as no one, can be perfect before everyone. Only God is. You love a person those not mean you won’t be offended at some point, It means that you will be willing to forgive when the offence arises. Love makes sacrifices, and is not selfish. It goes the extra mile not seeking it’s own.
This is what love is: it is large and incredibly patient. It is gentle and consistent. It does not fail, it does not give up easily, it covers a multitude of sins. This is the love we have all received from our Lord Jesus when He died for our sins.
We have become products of His love, and are expected to dispense it likewise. So when you say to anyone, “I Love You,” this is what it means. Praise God!
COFESSION:
The love of God has been dispensed in my heart therefore, I love the God way. I’m patient, I am kind. I’m forgiving and hold no grudge against anyone. I do not rejoice over the low days of others and I’m quick to help and celebrate others, not thinking more highly of myself. Hallelujah!
